David Mulkey

Dr. David Mulkey is a board-certified Family Physician and Pain Management Physician dedicated to helping patients find healing, hope, and restoration. With experience spanning family medicine and pain management, Dr. Mulkey is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that addresses both the physical and emotional challenges patients face.

A native of Alabama, Dr. Mulkey earned his Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating Summa Cum Laude with recognition through the Experiential Learning Scholars Honors Program. He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine Residency training in Chattanooga at the University of Tennessee before entering private practice.

Dr. Mulkey’s passion for medicine was shaped by both his Christian faith and his personal family experiences. Growing up alongside a brother with disabilities, he witnessed firsthand the profound impact that compassionate, dedicated physicians can have on a patient’s quality of life. Seeing the difference that exceptional medical care made for his brother instilled in him a deep desire to serve others through medicine.

His faith in God has been a guiding force throughout his life and career. As an ordained minister and physician, Dr. Mulkey views medicine as more than the treatment of disease—it is an opportunity to care for people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. He believes every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. In addition, he strives to provide care that not only restores function and health, but also hope.

Today, Dr. Mulkey serves patients by focusing on chronic pain management. His approach emphasizes listening carefully to patients, understanding their unique circumstances, and developing individualized treatment plans that improve quality of life and maximize function.

Whether helping a patient regain mobility, manage chronic pain, or navigate a new diagnosis, his goal remains unchanged: to make a meaningful difference in every patient’s life.

When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Mulkey enjoys spending time with his wife and children, serving in ministry, and exploring the outdoors while hunting.
